Root Element Missing

During testing the "Actual" xml is being written out to the directory empty. Which causes test to fail because the root element is missing. Do you have any idea why the "Actual" is being written empty?

Hi fugeeboy,

This looks like a map problem. It can have multiple causes but most likely the root of the source xml file does not match source schema. As a result, the map does not recognize the root tag and the actual xml file will remain empty.

Thank you!, Your tip helped me alot. I removed the xml tag and everything works now. Thanks again.

Hi everyone,

Apparently i'm having exactly the same problem as fugeeboy,

It's also displaying the error: "Root Element Missing" due to the fact that there's something wrong with the xml encoding.

After some research i understood that BizTalk's default encoding is utf-16.

Is it safe to remove the xml tag?

For the mtf, it is safe to remove the xml tag. It's only testing the xslt.
